After a careful listening to the whole material contained in this anniversary box set, I have to admit that i'm quite impressed....The fact that this album has been remixed in the same 4 track original machine used in those days, plus the advantages of technology in terms of sound, i think has open this album especially for a new generation of beatle fans, and is a gift for old fans from that time onward also, so as to appreciate from a different perspective how this double album was conceived, and feel like the boys were playing in front of your eyes so to speak..... The alternate tracks, including Esher demos, gives a better idea of how much material would the Fab Four have included if they wanted to in just one album, no matter how many discs would have contained.... If you compared this new mix with the 2009 remastered version of the original mix, you will notice how much difference are between them. Also the book included gives you a better insight of the recording sessions, reading a lot of valuable information that any beatles collector would certainly apreciattes. The exact replica of the poster and photos of the original edition gives an extra point to this release as well........ I highly recommend paying close attention to the mixes available on the blue ray disc, no matter how expensive or cheaper your equipment sound may be, you will get a nice experience listening these special mixes included in this format. In summary, this anniversary box set is a must-have item any serious collector of music, whether fans of the Fab Four or not, should get. Thanks to Apple Corps, Giles Martin and the team in Abbey Road for putting all this material available for beatle fans worldwide. I'm sure Sir George Martin also would be proud of all the work done by these guys. Greetings from Santiago, Chile.
